CITYMIRROR

BY DATACORRIDOR

Products & Services

Workflows for cities and infrastructure, and the team behind them.

Each workflow answers one kind of question about a place, on public evidence you can check. The live ones are open now; the previews are in early access. When a place needs more than a tool, we do the work ourselves.

Explore

386 cities, criterion by criterion

Which cities are really the smartest, and how do you know? Explore ranks every city we assess against the international standards for smart cities, and every answer links to the public document it was judged from.

Who it is for
  • City and regional officers benchmarking a place against its peers
  • Consultancies and researchers who need evidence they can cite
  • Suppliers and investors looking for where a capability is missing
What it answers
  • Where does my city stand, and against whom?
  • Which cities already have the thing we are planning, and how did they do it?
  • Which criteria is a city missing, and what is the evidence either way?
What you get
  • A ranking by reach, per person, per area or on the evidence alone
  • Every city's record, criterion by criterion, with its sources
  • Side-by-side comparison and a gap finder you can export

Atlas

170 datasets, asked in words

A nation's infrastructure, asked in plain English. Atlas joins the public registers that keep energy, water, transport, flood risk, heritage and land, and answers a question by drawing it on the map and saying in words what it found.

Who it is for
  • Infrastructure planners and asset owners
  • Developers and consultants screening sites
  • Local authorities working across departments
What it answers
  • Which listed buildings sit inside a flood warning area?
  • What runs under or next to this site, and who keeps the record?
  • How much of a region is constrained, and by what?
What you get
  • Answers drawn as map layers, with a written summary of the data
  • Questions about a region you draw yourself
  • Your own CSV or GeoJSON alongside ours, never leaving your browser
ask · draw · layerWhich listed buildings sit in a conservation area?

Lens

Any street on Earth, counted building by building

Drop a circle on any street on Earth and read what stands inside it. Lens counts the buildings by type, height and use, the ground and the streets, live from OpenStreetMap, and sets one place against another.

Who it is for
  • Urban designers and planners reading a neighbourhood
  • Property and regeneration teams comparing districts
  • Anyone who needs a quick, sourced reading of a place
What it answers
  • What is this district made of: homes, offices, shops, green space?
  • How tall is it, and how much floor space does each use take?
  • How does this place compare with that one, row by row?
What you get
  • Counts by type, storeys, floor space by use, land and streets
  • The map coloured by whichever rows you pick
  • Two circles compared side by side

Pulator

Reshape a file without it leaving the tab

Reshape a data file without it ever leaving your browser. Pulator turns a CSV or JSON file into the shape you need as a list of plain steps, or as SQL, and keeps the reasoning with every result.

Who it is for
  • Analysts tidying public data before they use it
  • Teams that cannot upload sensitive files to a cloud tool
  • Anyone who wants a transform they can read back later
What it answers
  • How do I filter, group, join or pivot this file without a spreadsheet?
  • What exactly was done to this data before it reached me?
What you get
  • Steps that show their result as you type
  • The same steps as SQL, editable directly
  • Snapshots that keep the transform that produced them

Groundworks

Change a real site, and measure what it causes

A city builder on real ground. Draw a red line round any UK site and Groundworks loads what is really there; clear it, lay streets, paint zones and build it out, then measure what it causes, with every coefficient sourced.

Who it is for
  • Masterplanners and development teams testing options early
  • Local authorities exploring a site before a brief
  • Students and educators learning how places are made
What it answers
  • How many homes could this site take, and at what land take?
  • What would the scheme cost in carbon, and what demand would it add?
  • What changes if we keep the park, or cut the road?
What you get
  • A site loaded with its real buildings, roads and ground
  • Zones, streets and build-outs you can change in seconds
  • Carbon, demand, homes and land take, each figure traced to its source

Lantern

Read a place from photographs and scans

Read a place from photographs or a drone scan. Lantern decides where to look, takes its own views, and reads what is there, storeys, heights, roof form, materials and condition, with each finding traced to the view it came from.

Who it is for
  • Surveyors and asset teams cataloguing buildings
  • Heritage and conservation officers
  • Digital twin teams who need attributes, not just geometry
What it answers
  • How many storeys, what roof, what materials, in what condition?
  • Which of these values were read, and which could not be?
What you get
  • Measured attributes in metres, not guesses from a caption
  • Every value tied to the view it was read from
  • What could not be read, recorded as unread

07Services

When a place needs more than a tool, we do the work.

The same engine, run by our team for one city, district or programme: deeper evidence than the public record shows, and digital twins built on it, from a single site to a whole city.

01fact_check

City evidence deep-dive

We go past the public ranking for one city or region: every department's open data, plans, budgets, registers and contracts, mined and verified against the international standards, and every gap classified as never collected, out of date, siloed or simply unpublished.

  • checkA dated evidence base, every finding linked to its source
  • checkA gap register that separates a cheap integration fix from a new build
  • checkA briefing your officers and funders can both read

02inventory

Digital twin readiness

A digital twin is only as good as the data under it. We audit what exists for your place across every domain, its licence, freshness, quality and owner, design the data foundation a twin needs, and write the specification you can procure against.

  • checkA catalogue of every dataset that bears on the place
  • checkA twin-ready data model, joined across domains
  • checkA procurement-ready specification and a phased plan

03location_city

District digital twins

For a district or a single site we build a micro twin on real ground: buildings with their heights, uses and condition, streets, land and the infrastructure networks beneath, joined from the national registers and read from imagery where the registers stop. Then we put your options through it.

  • checkA browser-based twin of the area, nothing to install
  • checkScenarios measured for homes, carbon, demand and land take
  • checkThe model and its sources handed over, or kept live and updated

04hub

City-scale digital twins

We join a city's or a nation's infrastructure registers, energy, water, transport, flood, heritage and land, into one graph and one map, and keep it re-grounded as the registers change, so the model never quietly drifts from the place it describes.

  • checkInfrastructure joined across domains, with provenance on every record
  • checkContinuous updates matched to how fast each source really changes
  • checkAgents that answer questions across the whole picture

05query_stats

Benchmarking and funding

Cross-city benchmarking against ISO 37120 and 37122 with the peers you choose, the cost of what a city cannot currently see, and the evidence written up in the format a funder or a board asks for.

  • checkA peer benchmark, criterion by criterion
  • checkA business case built on cited evidence
  • checkMatching to live grants, tenders and innovation calls

How we work

  1. 01ScopeA short conversation and a written scope: the place, the question, the evidence it needs and what you will get.
  2. 02BuildWe mine, verify and model, in your browser as we go, so you see the evidence arrive rather than a report at the end.
  3. 03Hand over, or keep it liveYou keep the model, the data and every source. Or we keep it re-grounded as the place changes.
